Colossal Hoover Dam

My partner and I were on a roadtrip in the US and our first journey was from Las Vegas to The Grand Canyon. On the journey we passed over the Hoover Dam which was quite significant as it provides the water to keep where we were just visiting (Vegas) going. My partner is very into architecture and structure so we got out to have a look and it is remarkable how tiny it makes you feel. The vast shadows it casts are beautiful. It is also quite astounding looking at the water level and how much it has dropped. It makes you realise that places like Las Vegas will not be around forever unless something is done. They rely on water supply from the Hoover Dam. It is an incredible human achievement.
