ONE.
Backblip
Today Miles turned one.
We celebrated by the beach in Lorne with Faye and Lewis (who, instead of getting away from the usurpers of their household peace and quiet, had decided to come away camping with us!).
In some ways I can't believe that it's already been a year since I watched, beaming, as Miles arrived peacefully into the world. He didn't make a sound for more than half an hour, and when we asked if he was OK because he wasn't crying, the midwife mearly asked us what he had to cry about - he had had a calm, unassisted arrival at The Women's, and had come when he was ready (5 days before his due date). It was, without a doubt, the most amazing experience I've ever had.
Fast forward a year and the quiet has gone.
Miles is many things: cheeky, inquisitive, hilarious, rambunctious and extremely sociable (amongst many others), but noone would call him quiet.
He is an absolute joy.
In other ways, it seems amazing that it's only been a year since his arrival. It seems like he's been here forever, and the world is definitely a happier place because of his presence. Not a whinger, not a whiner, his (infrequent) tears have an obvious cause.
He is The Little Goblin, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Happy Birthday Miles, you rock my world.
