Grinding Corn

At the end of the Friday hike we all splurged and ate a "sumptuous buffet" at the Hacienda Cuilapam, which was housed in the wooden main building of an old hacienda. Open air, as almost all restaurants are, the plants and wonderful items placed all around were a delight in themselves. This woman grinding corn for tortillas kept her eye on us as we tried to decide among the outstanding variety of regional foods - soups, main dishes with each of the famous seven moles, grilled meats, salads, freshly made tortillas, tacos and other "pick up" foods, and of course desserts. What to choose!
