Mr G aquiered this one via the local antique shop go £7/£8 as it did not tick.

It is covered in what he thinks is WD 40 which is entirely the wrong oil for a clock which needs a lighter more delicate one. It has been out of the case for a few weeks now and although he is cleaning it up it is still oozing oil. It has a lovely chime when it goes. He has forced the chime which is how we know.
