The Waters of History
One of the waterfalls in the valley at Lumsdale near Matlock, Derbyshire.
These waters were used to power several mills but now only ruins and natural beauty remain.
This shot may prove to be rather expensive as my "water" luck ran out! I was photographing a different, larger and steeper waterfall. Having set up the camera and tripod, I put my rucksack down on a ledge. When I turned back, it had disappeared!! It was lodged in the water, 15 feet down at the top of the next section of waterfall. After a bit of thought I scrambled down the bank, holding my breath and fished it out. I am at present trying to dry out the 2 lenses and other assorted bits and pieces!!
