Went for coffee with a friend today at the old railway cafe in Longridge. It is odd to think that the steam train to Preston only stopped running in 1968.
Stone from the quarry above Longridge used to be taken to Preston using the natural gradient. Coming the other way, before steam trains they used horses!
I can highly recommend the brownie!
