Island of Dreams

I have been longing to visitBurgh Island for YEARS....and finally got the chance on Friday.

The island is an island at high tide only, but only just, and the Sea Tractor in the picture can still make it over the submerged sand so ferry people too and fro.

Agatha Christie stayed here before the war. She set Evil Under the Sun here (changing the name) and the Suchet Poirot was filmed here after it was restored to it's full glory in the 80s.

I was going to put up a pic of the whole island showing the hotel but the examples on the web site (link above) are super and my rainy day version doesn't do it justice.

One day I'll come back and stay, but might need to get a weekend paper-round for some extra pennies first.
