William W Woodpecker

After years of trying to capture this tiny red crested woodpecker he shows up every other day to munch on what's left of the frozen apples.
I think he is coming regularly because with temps in the minus 20s C the apples are absolutely solid, so he's able to peck at them. He doesn't seem to like them when they are soft.
He is very fast and reacts to the slightest sound and also he is no more than 4 inches head to tail. Just happy I've finally managed to photograph him. once or twice.
He has officially been named for my website William W Woodpecker.....
