Pomp and Circumstance

The opening ceremony of the 46th Model United Nations conference at the World Forum Conference Centre at The Hague, Holland.  Nearly 3,000 student delegates (of whom 21 are mine!) representing 98 different nationalities from more than 200 different international schools, apparently.  Today's photo shows that moment in the opening ceremony when the (real) Ambassadors from the various Consulates in the Hague 'hand over' their country's flag to the student delegate who is representing their country during the conference, as a symbolic gesture of trust in the work that the students will engage in during the rest of this week.  Nice touch.
