Day 3: Funchal, Round 1

First trip into Funchal this time. It's a lovely city with a fab mix of stunning Colonial buildings, a marina and a wonderful array of urban grim. And roadworks at the moment whilst they continue to work on the flood defences and a new marina.

We found The Ritz café and enjoyed cake and coffee before wandering back.

Tonight's dinner involved a local, very friendly restaurant, a drunk but wonderfully charming Norwegian chap (alleged to be a conman) and a random Swedish singer. Ooh and before that, there was freebie fizz, wine and canapés laid on for returning guests at the hotel :-)
