Robert Louis Stevenson evening

George Sutherland (pictured) is organising a literary evening in Blairlogie village hall this Saturday focusing on Robert Louis Stevenson's connection with Bridge-of-Allan.

I had been asked to take part with my mud paintings made from the floor of Stevenson cave, which is believed to have inspired Treasure Island.

Anyway I am not able to go because we are setting off on holiday that evening but I have given him some mud along with some paintings for a mini exhibition and another friend of mine Libby, will be organising the inter-active section of the evening when people will be invited to come forward and try their hand at mud paintings.

I have assured George that Libby has tremendous persuasive powers and will soon have half the village busy painting with mud.

The evening will also include some of Stevenson poetry for children read by Lys Hansen, and a slideshow and performance piece by artist Karen Strang and actor
Keith Neill.
