Day off

We had a good day today.

And we took advantage of the marginally cooler weather to take a half day off and go down to the South Coast, where temperatures were a good 10 degrees cooler than in the city. We packed a picnic, and off we went.

Well, we had the most marvellous time. Plenty of birds, but for me this delightful minuscule damsel was just perfection. It's so tiny, and it flitted about quite quickly, so this is as good as I got.

I can't identify it as this moment - but it might be an orange thread-tail.

Expeditions are gong to be either very early morning or evenings for a while. Temperatures are set to be over 40 degrees C for the next 7 days - at least.
