Concrete Pour
There is a lot going on in this photo of yet another project being constructed on Playa La Ropa road. What was once a big hole in the ground, is rapidly becoming a 50 meter tall condo complex, built against a hillside of solid rock. These units will have an excellent view and will be very high end judging by the coffee bar that has just opened at the base of the development. Today when we arrived for coffee, they were just getting ready to pour additional concrete support pillars. Like a good American project, they had cement trucks lined up and a pumper truck was in place to get the concrete to the forms (its hose is visible right in the middle). Like a good Mexican project, however, they were hand carrying 5 gallon buckets of concrete up rickety ladders made of scrap lumber to the guy on the right, who was hoisting them from the ground to his perch on the form and dumping them into the mix. See in large for the best view this process.
