Street Collection
I was pleased to capture this joke shared between the news vendor in red taking a momentary break from his paper stand outside M&S in Argyle Street, and the two Glasgow nuns with the collection cans. The vendor's evening paper headlines highlighted sensational violence - " Glasgow mum's murderer gets life for brutal street attack", while the two elderly nuns were trying to tap into the altruism of most Glaswegians on the street - a juxtaposition of two co-existing cultures - drink and drug-fuelled aggression (of the female murderer) and the generous 'caring community'.
