Snowdrops Sheltering By The Church Wall
Dropped my Godson off this morning at school and decided to try a different way down to work. I normally head back to my house and then down towards Carlisle, but this time I ended up heading down via Roadhead and then past Kirklinton.
These snowdrops sit right next to the tall sandstone retaining wall of the churchyard. One year it was just a mass of white, this year it looks as though there aren't quite as many clumps flowering.
I'm not a complete hardcore galanthophile, but I do love all the different varieties and the way they are a harbinger of spring. :)
