Visiting

Minnie and I went to visit her godmother Del and my cousin Warren today.
They've been looking after Del's mum's dog Hessie (in the blip) while she has been out in Africa visiting maternity wards and hospitals. She took over much needed supplies of latex gloves and baby clothes etc.
She showed me some of the photos from her trip and it really is another world. The beds have tears and holes in, the new borns are weighed in buckets hung from scales and the beds in the wards aren't even separated with curtains. It is said the worst thing you can do out there is become pregnant as there is such a high risk of death.
We really don't know how lucky we are in this country to have such wonderful healthcare available 24 hours a day.
Today I am thankful.
