These Sun Conures, or Sun Parakeets, were a bright spot at the Farmers' Market on this dark afternoon that feels like imminent rain, but not really. We are all hoping it just pours already, with the sky so thick and the air heavy and humid, but it feels like a big tease.

When I asked this woman if I could take a photo of the birds, she was happy to oblige and kept turning her face to the camera. I kept walking around to the side because their plumage was so dramatic from that angle, but every time I stepped around, she rotated to face me again. We were doing a funny dance in front of the carrots and kale until I asked her to please just stand still.
