Tang yuan

It's the beginning of yet another round of feasting, thanks to Chinese New Year. The celebration begins with year end festivities including an elaborate dinner that involves everyone in the family.

These glutinous rice balls in sweet ginger soup is a must at year-end dinners. They symbolize togetherness and the unity of the family. I'm not a huge fan of this dessert but it would raise some eyebrows if I refuse, that is, if the elderly elders were still around.
