Or that's what they call it down here anyway. The river is controlled by the Manapouri dam.

Teacher only day at school today. I was pretty nervous about it, waking up sweating (feeling a bit like stage fright I suspect) imagining that they would bay for blood or something. Anyway everything in reality was fine. They are a nice friendly staff and appreciated my honesty and humour (at least somebody does !)
