Neptunus Rex

Getting closer to the equator also means getting closer to the Royal Domain of Neptune, Ruler of the Raging Main, and all Living Things of the Sea. Not being a Trusty Shellback, it is impossible even thinking about passing the Equator unnoticed by Neptune and his staff. Right now we have three crewmembers on board without that Trusty Shellback title. Last weekend they were ordered to write a letter to Neptune, introducing themselve and asking to have a little bit mercy. The Neptune invitation flag was hoisted, as you can see on this early morning picture, and the bottles were thrown in the sea. Our trainee Willem came up with the brilliant idea to use a Ketjap Manis bottle for his request. According the complete rest of the crew a very bad omen and a very unwise move, because nobody on board has the slightest doubt that Neptunes will not be very amused to receive a Ketjap bottle.
