Coast Starlight - train runs from Los Angeles to Seattle - we boarded at Union Station, Los Angeles - destination San Francisco - train actually drops you at Oakland, and a coach takes you across the Bay Bridge to the Wharf area of SF… not the fastest way to travel, but certainly very relaxing and scenic - the route follows the west coast and affords great views of the pacific ocean on one side and mountains on the other as you travel from Los Angeles through Santa Barbara and onwards to Oakland

This was taken from the last carriage of the train as it negotiated the twists and turns and climbed through the mountains.
