Bugs!

This is usually the stuff of nightmares as far as I'm concerned but these guys are quite fascinating. The cicadas live in the ground until it's time to breed. Then they crawl up a tree trunk like this one and hatch out of their creepy crawly bodies with bright green livery, wings and some extremely loud noise making equipment! There weren't any when I walked round the park last week. Today they are thousands and the noise is deafening!
