Chicago River from Swissotel

River frozen solid (most unusual apparently). When I arrived in Chicago the pilot announced the temperature as -22c. Travelling the short distance from the terminal to the taxi and from the taxi to the hotel it didn't seem too bad - until you get exposed to the wind (omg).

Can't believe that there is still a strong contingent of homeless out on the streets in this weather - how they survive in this weather I just do not know.

Looked a total plonker walking to the office this morning - hat with ear-flaps AND a scarf wrapped round face. When I got back to the hotel in the evening the skin on my face was red-raw where exposed to the elements.
