New fruit?

My mandarin tree has only two possibilities this year, probably because of our very dry winter and spring. Looking at their size it would appear that the chance of maturity seems quite slim.
The wildlife in our neighbourhood usually takes care of and fruit and vegetables that we attempt to grow. Recently our tomatoes disappeared overnight with a raid by the possums and before that the white Cockatoos, (a large bird from the Galah family) took care of our lime tree even before they reached maturity.

I suppose the supermarket will receive more of my money again.
