The coldest day
this winter, so far. The highest temperature today was minus 21°c and it was that kind of cold that stings the skin, freezes in the nostrils and numbs your fingers and toes before instilling that dull ache in them, and that's with snow boots and thick socks and gloves AND mittens. Plus I was on the move. When you stand still you can almost feel the cold seep into you.
I cannot begin to imagine how this woman outside the Kitai Gorod metro station selling dried mushrooms was feeling.
