Hawaii Day 5 - Waipio Valley

Year of Awesome. Day 29

On our fifth day on the Big Island we hiked down into the Waipio Valley. The 1.5 mile hike down was a breeze but the hike back up was a monster. The grade of the road is like 20%. It took us a few breaks to catch our breath. It was like doing a straight hour of high intensity cardio! It was well worth it though. The valley is absolutely beautiful. I would do it again and again to walk that valley floor. I guess that why it is the Valley of the Gods. The fact that we got to walk where the Hawaiian Gods did......
