"War is Over ........If you Want it"

Exhibition of the works of Yoko Ono at The Museum Of Contemporary Art Sydney.

I must admit I was somewhat very cynical going into this exhibition but was really fascinated and moved by some of the exhibits.
A lot of the works were interactive such as the piece above . The room was set up with tables with white chess boards and all white pieces, and the public are encouraged to play.

Once the game commences and the pieces intermingle, it becomes difficult to know who controls the game, thus competition flounders. This leads to a shared understanding of our mutual concerns and a new relationship based on empathy rather than opposition. Peace is then attained on a small scale.

This may all sound a bit Hippy-Dippy but some of the exhibits had complete strangers talking to each other and the whole atmosphere was very genial and upbeat.
