The Bridge

I am looking forward to watching the final two parts of the Danish police drama 'The Bridge' this weekend. The bridge over our river has, to my knowledge, had no murders committed on it or under it, nor have any boats smashed into it. The odd fisherman can be seen casting for trout in the pools that form on the river bed in summer. A raging torrent can pass beneath it in winter. It certainly post dates the great floods of 1940 when the river took all before it, sweeping away the large hotels and the centre of the thermal spa.
