GO GO GO!!!
ICT this afternoon and my favourite topic of the lot - control programming :)
I have two groups going on simultaneously: one constructing and then learning how to program the Lego NXT; the other working with a program called CoCo that allows them to code a series of simulations including a burglar alarm, traffic light, lift and even a log flume. There is a control box (the little thing with cables and lights under her arm) that takes a range of sensors and lights/motors that be programmed to do whatever they want. After a very successful session creating the code for operating a traffic light (not as easy as it seems - you can see the length of her program on the right-hand side of the screen), I suggested that they could get to work on an auto-teacher to help me out. They are going to start off with it monitoring noise levels and telling them to "Be Quiet!" if it goes over a certain decibel level :)
