Big Black Toy

I had a rash moment the other night & bought myself a new lens.

You read & hear about how much people pay for lenses & think "Bloody hell.. How much!" I've always stood by he idea of it not being the equipment but the user.

That I still stand by but after using my new 300mm (460mm on my crop sensor) I realise the equipment does not make you better, it does make it a hell of a lot easier though.

I've never had a USM lens & I'm really impressed with the speed of the focusing, but the thing that has impressed me more is the image stabilisation when shooting handheld at 300mm. Highly impressive.

Does make my 50mm prime look tiny & costs 5 times as much too eek!
