The Lord Of The Flies.....
The house on the right with the blue plaque is where Sir William Golding (author of Lord Of The Flies) lived in Marlborough. His father was a teacher at the grammar school and he also attended this school in Marlborough.
The inscription on the plaque reads: "1911-1993 author and Nobel Literature Laureate lived in this house. "Our house was on the green that close like square, tilted south".
