Independence

Independence Monument in the middle of Phnom Penh isn't the most vivacious of things, but it symbolises Cambodia's independence from France in 1953, so it's important for the city.

Today I have been mostly revelling in how good a lifestyle you can have in Phnom Penh if you can get over the feeling of remoteness from back home. Today I have sunbathed, brunched and cycled all over town. Very much looking forward to making the most out of the next 6 months here (ignoring the fact that in April it will top 40 degrees every day and then bucket it down for the subsequent few months).
