This was the view that awaited me & my roomy when we opened the curtains this morning. We'd chased the setting sun west from Geneva Airport - but as we entered the gorges that take you through the Aravis to Grand Bornand we'd lost the race & we arrived in the dark.
I'm at the Auberge Nordique for the next 5 days on the Winter Training module of the International Mountain Leader qualification. Like many of these courses I'm sure I'll learn as much from the guys and gals that are going through the process as I will from the instructors. My room-mate (Spike) is 10 years younger than me and already a respected veteran of Arctic exploration - I can't wait to see who else we've got on the course with us.

The further I travel into the outdoors the more I'm learning its all about the journey.
