Lion's head

When this wonderfully colourful wǔshī costume arrived yesterday (by parcel post. In an extremely large box. Covered with Chinese ideograms) I whooped with delight and told the postie  "This is the lion's head."

He hefted the box dubiously.

"Seems a bit light," he said.

Not only light but bright. As the wǔshī dance - NOT to be confused with the dragon dance -  is integral to New Year celebrations - and as the celebrations to start the Year of the Horse are prolonged and extensive - this still seems a suitable subject for a blip.

Xin nian kuai le!
