Birthday treat

We have spent the day at Mercedes-Benz World in Weybridge where we treated grandson George to a one hour "Under 16s Driving Lesson". He has just passed his thirteenth birthday! By the end of the hour he was fully in control of his Mercedes, driving it well and reversing. His father was sitting in the back. Mercedes-Benz World is situated on part of the old Brooklands race track, and the area where the driving lessons take place contains a small bit of the original race track banking. Quite something at thirteen to say you have driven a Mercedes on the Brooklands race track!
After the driving lesson, George and his dad were passengers in a high performance Mercedes where the skill of the driver and the performance of the car was quite amazing. The track was very wet which added to the excitement, but it has been a beautiful sunny day.
We spent another hour or two exploring this amazing Mercedes showcase then had a birthday meal on the way home. We think George had a good birthday celebration!
