We finally watched. 'Long Walk to Freedom' and the film even brought a tear to Mr J's eyes. There's nothing I can say about what an amazing man Madiba was that the world hasn't said already.

But as I watched the film I realised that it was exactly 8 years ago to the date that Mr J & I flew into Cape Town to begin the 6 month Ash4Sej honeymoon where we planned to travel Cape Town to Cairo.

Unfortunately the trip was cut short after 2 months when the news that my father had passed away came while in JoBurg having dinner with friends. Even though that was one of the saddest days of my life, my memories of South Africa and it's wonderful people of all creeds is a happy one, who made that trip one of the best ever.

The book in this photo was given to us by our SA friends Mpho & her family as a reminder of the land and it's beautiful people.

Mr J. & I long to return to South Africa a place that truly got under our skin
