Reunion
It was the School reunion lunch today and it was really lovely. There were 190 people there including loads of former teachers. Our old headmistress and deputy head who scared the **** out of us when we were small were there and, whilst rather elderly, they did remember us, once prompted. They are still scary! It was a very nice day and the school really did give us so much to take into our adult lives, not just a top notch education but also independence and life long, meaningful friendships.
We then went to 78 Derngate, Northampton for afternoon tea to see the interior decor designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and this light is from the sitting room, which is actually painted black with some gorgeous geometric triangular designs in yellow and other colours to brighten it up. Before it was restored to its former glory, it belonged to our old school and we had piano lessons in the old bedrooms but they were painted dull institutional green back then.
I've got the girls back here this evening plus one soft black Labrador. And we've been chewing the fat in front of the fire whilst enjoying the ham I cooked yesterday and picking apart Saturday night telly.
A lovely day with super friends.
