Uncle John came to visit... xxx
I couldn't believe it when I woke and looked at the time this morning and it was just before 9am. It was lush not waking up to an alarm. Mike had been up since about 7, but came back in to me and we looked on the camera to see Eva asleep, to see her actually sitting up in her cot playing with her teddies. She hadn't made a sound, so I don't know how long she'd been awake for. She was all excited when Mike went in to her. He brought her into me for her milk, but she would not have any. She has been doing this the last couple of nights, where she'll open her mouth to latch on, but turn her head away at the last minute and seem to get frustrated. I tried for a good amount of time to give her some milk, but she didn't seem to want it. Mike said maybe she's weaning herself of my milk, which that thought did upset me. He then took her downstairs for some cereal and toast while I got myself showered and dressed. A short while later, after I'd come downstairs, I tried again to give Eva some milk, again she turned her head away. Mike went in to the kitchen to make her up a bottle, which she immediately started drinking. I will admit that I did cry a bit at that point lol. I'm not ready to break our special Mommy cuddles and milk moments ..... :-(
I messaged Leah about it to see if she could shed any light, and she'd said Noah had done the same on a couple of occasions, and that if she's teething it could be why she went with the easier bottle option as oppose to having to use effort to get to her milk. She suggested expressing a little out, to get things going, and try again. I did this when I took her up for her sleep a little later, and it worked straight away. Phew!
Finally found Eva a party dress for her 1st birthday tea party next week, and it arrived today. She's gonna look so beautiful, it's such a gorgeous dress.
She slept 12 til about 2.15pm, when my brother came round for Eva cuddles, a catch up and a brew or 2. Today's pic montage shows Uncle John looking at her nursery daily diary with her, reading her her Noisy Farm book, her trying to put half a peg in his mouth, then leaning forward trying to put the half a peg in my mouth. She still looks so tired, which I don't know how she can be considering how much she sleeps! They had a lovely time together. It was a joy to see. Eva was so happy and revelled in spending time with her Uncle John, she was full of smiles and nursery has obviously been doing wonders regarding how clingy for me she was getting. She still loves her Mommy cuddles, obviously, and I adore my Eva cuddles, but she'll sit with other people and go to them a lot easier now, and if I need to nip out of the room, she's fine, whereas it was starting to get very difficult before, and as, she started nursery.
My dad came round this afternoon too, so we all had a lovely catch up together.
I was singing nursery rhymes with Eva after they'd gone. I started singing the songs without the actions to start with, and when I started singing Pat A Cake, Eva started clapping her hands straight away, and when I did Twinkle Twinkle with the actions, she copied my diamond shape. I love seeing her learn new things or see the things she's learnt that I didn't know she knew. She's still pointing at everything in sight too lol.
Another thing Eva has started doing, which I may have already said before, is making a growling sound like the lion in her Dear Zoo book, and purring, where she actually makes a proper purring sound with her tongue. As if a not even 1 year old baby can purr, I find it so funny. Xxx
