Weird science

My daughter was conducting some experiments in the basement today for her Grade 8 Science Fair that is coming up. After the third time explaining to me what she was doing, she just rolled her eyes and wrote it down for me "creating a cloud chamber to view the vapour trails created by subatomic particles created by beta decay".

She has been ordering stuff online and we get packages delivered with big orange stickers warning RADIOACTIVE, and we have some serious gloves for handling the dry ice …. but so far, the house is still standing so I presume the experiments have been successful so far.
