Streetlight
Lunchtime discussion (a true story):
Me: "When you hear that the atmosphere has been getting cooler for the last decade, what does that make you think?"
Liberal: "I like this salad."
Me: "When you hear that the data used for the computer models to predict global warming was lost,... in the 1980s... what does that make you think?"
Liberal: ...
Me: "When you hear that recent research spanning the last 25 years suggests that the warming from the greenhouse effect has been way over estimated, what do you think?"
Liberal: "The streetlights around here are way too tall."
Me: "When you hear of record breaking cold temperatures at many locations in the US, colder than ever recorded, what do you think?"
Liberal: "If the streetlights weren't so tall, they wouldn't be obscured by the fog, and would be more effective, and we would save a lot of energy."
Me: "Oh..."
Liberal: ...
Me: "I like this salad."
No offense to any liberals out there... :)
