Taking the first step

For the last four years my guy and I have lived in a cottage a couple of blocks from the beach. Now, when I say cottage I guess that shoebox would be a closer description. As much as we love the atmosphere, both of us have decided that we have not only outgrown our place but feel we need a whole change of scenery.

We have been on the lookout in surrounding towns for the "perfect" place to live for a little while now, refusing to settle until it feels right. And boy, we have seen some doozies!! I was beginning to think that we wouldn't find something that would fit us...until we did.

This morning we walked into a place and knew it was different. After discussing it all day, one trip back for measurements, an idea trip to IKEA, I think we are ready to make the commitment, to make that change in our lives.


While its exciting, I would be lying if I said I wasn't scared too. It can be so difficult to take yourself out of your comfort zone...to plunge into the unknown for worse or for better. But sometimes you just have to take that first step....
