Hanging on

Will this rose survive and bloom?! An all year round survivor in the garden. It just shows what a mild winter we have had up to now.

T, K, L and R were chasing the storm eastwards last night to catch the midnight ferry from Dover to France. They are on their way to La Rosiere in the Alps to ski.
We thought the ferry may have been cancelled but in fact they had caught an earlier one running late and so were able to set foot on the Continent. We received a phone call at about two o'clock this afternoon to say they had arrived at La Rosiere without mishap! R had shared the driving since T hadn't slept for a day and a half.

The day was sunny and blustery and I was able to start working in the garden under the high winds!
