Woohoo!!
After yesterday's long, LONG, journey, I slept like a log! I don't think I moved because my hair wasn't sticking up at all angles like it usually is in the morning!! I didn't have any nightmares of being buried in a snow drift which was quite amazing!
We were served ham and cheese omelettes for breakfast which were yummy with lots of coffee.
Because there is so much snow and the roads are too narrow until the ploughs get rid of it, the ski buses couldn't run so we had to rely on the hotel 8 seater minibus to ferry everyone up and down to the lifts.
We were up there and skiing by 10.30 so not bad! There were only two chairlifts working until they piste bashed the higher runs but it was enough to get our ski legs going!
We even did the bottom 500m of the women's downhill run! The stands are still there from last weekend! It's a shame the race wasn't this weekend - I would have loved to have watched it. Our Brit skier Chemmy Alcott came a respectable 23rd from a starting bib number of 50, so it looks good for Sochi.
I'd love for her to get a medal - I have huge respect for her.
Anyway, it started raining/sleeting after lunch so we've come back to the hotel to drink the Prosecco that our hosts kindly put in our room for us. Cakes are served in the afternoon...... ;-)
