Grey heron

Having spotted two Dippers down at the Covanburn last weekend, we went back in search of the elusive kingfishers, only to find this grey heron standing waiting for us.
We've seen a grey heron from a distance before on the Avon Water that this wee burn flows into. I guess the higher than normal water level in the burn tempted him to move. Lovely sight.
