Maundy Maundy ....

It would be rude to call the Queen and Duke ‘gargoyles’, but these were placed above the west door of Chichester Cathedral, I think to commemorate their visit to distribute Maundy Money during the Jubilee Year. In all our visits to Chichester, we had never noticed them before till the walk guide pointed them out this afternoon.

We went on the City Walls walk in Chichester. We’ve done bits of them before, but this time the walk took us round the entire city, 1.5 miles, most of the way on the walls. There are a couple of bits of the wall in private ownership, which are not available to walk. Although the sun shone, the wind was raw. Super views of Chichester, especially the Cathedral, and lovely to see it all from different angles.
