Llandaf Weir
We had a nice walk again this Sunday afternoon, enjoying a break in the continuous rain to take photos. The River Taff is full and flowing fast. It was thundering over the weir by Llandaf Rowing Club. We started on the far bank, walked to the bridge by Hailey park and then into Llandaf for tea and cake at Jaspers. Then we re-found the Taff Trail and walked to the next bridge by the A48, crossing back over to the Gabalfa side and returning to the weir. I like a circular walk.
This close-up is my attempt to capture the power and beauty of the churning, dancing, bubbling water at the base of the weir. I love the contrast of the smooth flow over the weir, and the turbulence at the base - like a mini Niagara falls.
