Tree surgeons' t-shirts
Regular readers know that about a fortnight ago we had tree surgeons taking down a tree. When they came they asked if we would do a clothes washing for them (as they could find no launderette in our leafy suburb.) Don't ask why a washing was so urgent, but it was and we know that rather sad circumstances that caused this.
We did their washing but because our tumble drier was playing up, we asked a good neighbour to dry the stuff in her tumble drier. She was happy to take it all to dry it pretty urgently. My wife got it out of our friend's tumble drier and gave it to the men when they were leaving. A couple of days later we got a phone call asking where the missing t-shirts were, as they had been quite expensive. We checked our washing machine and our friends tumble drier; found nothing; and phoned back to say there were no missing t-shirts. Made us a bit suspicious of these workmen!
Today, our friend phoned to say that she had found 3 t-shirts that she had hung over radiators to dry. The guys had been honest about the shirts and perhaps will come back and finish the job they started (which we feared they might not.)
So had the t-shirts originally cost about £100 as claimed? Look at the makes (Lyle and Scott, Hugo Boss and Penguin) and advise me!
