code orange

Wild weather again all night and all day. I had to go to Kilkenny Hospital for a study session this afternoon, for the ALSO course (advanced life support - obstetrics). Good grief, the support manual is 6 inches thick, so I was in the market for any assistance on offer. However the weather was wild and the wind was blowing the wheel barrow and wrought iron garden furniture about as I was thinking of heading off onto the raised motorway. I went to the AA road travel website which announced a code orange - of which I know nothing, apparently it's rain, flood risk and 130 km winds and it seems I have to be prepared.........for what it wasn't clear. I went any way and was one of the few out, which helped with avoiding the enormous puddles forming!
This is part of the River Durrow just outside Ballyragget (great name), with plenty more of the wet stuff coming in behind.
Course prep was well worth the bother, thankfully. I'm off to practice my 250 MCQ's. House to myself tonight, Hubs is off doing something with 'food waste' in Tullamore - eating it? Food fight?
