Gainesville adventure day #2
Unfortunately today had more drama than yesterday. I slept at Anna's house yesterday and got to school bright and early for my IM/ICU exam. I had just finished the halfway mark when the internet went out in the whole health science center building. Needless to say we couldn't finish the exam and our dean told us we all passed. Sweet! Now I only have two more exams to go and I will not have to take these silly things anymore.
Anna, Kate, Hannah and I went to bento afterwards for lunch and I got more coconut curry. It was so delicious. Any day with coconut curry in it is a win in my book.
Then the drama begins. I am laying on Anna's couch talking and hanging out with her and Hannah when all of the sudden it hits me. About as quickly as a sniper bullet, my stomach starts hurting so badly that I immediately jump up, crouch on the ground, and start sobbing. It was the worst pain I have ever felt, literally it felt like there was a knife in my belly. I started shaking, felt nauseous, and dizzy all in about a 5 second time span. It freaked me out, not only because my best friend was watching me, probably thinking I just jumped off the looney bridge, but because it honestly felt like I was going to pass out. Jimmy was coming into Gainesville that night to hang out with his friend and the timing worked out great. We rushed to the ER and he was able to meet us there right away. It was the worst pain I have ever been in and while in the midst of it all I could focus on was trying to breath each breath. FINALLY, aft what felt like an eternity, the pain subsided almost as fast as it came on. It was constipation... Kill me with embarrassment now. This has lit a fire under me though, two ER visits in two months equals a bowel disease I am going to ameliorate. I am so grateful for my best friend and my husband, while I was thinking it was my last day on earth, those we two of the best people I could have hoped would be with me.
