Woohoo!
Mega 4lb loss this week - and I didn't even do any more exercise! Whoopieee! Must've just pushed past my "buffer zone". It'll fall off from now on! (Ha, I wish.)
Watched the documentary about fat vs sugar (they concluded what my mother has always taught me - everything in moderation). What I found interesting was seeing the amount of muscle the two brothers lost during the month they were dieting - one lost 2 kg of muscle mass, that's like five big steaks!! I was really surprised by that - I must admit that when I went to Weight Watchers meetings back in the day, if anyone (me included) didn't lose weight one week, I thought it was just a cop-out when everyone chimed in that they must've gained muscle instead. I didn't realise it would actually be so noticeable... On the flip side, I'm now worried that I'm losing muscle mass and not fat, because I've felt pretty weak this week. The documentary also highlighted that muscle is a metabolic organ so the more muscle you lose, the harder you'll find it to burn fat. (Gimmicks and shock factor aside, it was actually a pretty interesting documentary.)
Sooo anyway the conclusion is I really need to up my exercise, and not just cardio but toning exercises too, to prevent muscle loss. Rubbiiiiish......
